The Easterseals Rehabilitation Center offers Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) services to individuals with congenital or acquired disabilities who struggle to use speech as their primary means of communication. We can provide an initial evaluation to determine the most appropriate AAC approaches, devices, or apps, as well as consultation with other members of theEasterseals Assistive Technology Department (OT, PT, Rehab Engineer and the Seating/Mobility Specialist). Individuals may also receive communication training and therapy, as well as receive assistance with the process of obtaining devices for trials or submitting proposals for purchase through their medical coverage resources. We also make every effort to collaborate with others involved in the individual’s care (i.e., family members, other therapists, school personnel, or employers) to ensure successful use of AAC in all areas life.
